TEHRAN -- Tar virtuoso Keyvan Saket has penned an instructional book on tar and setar in Persian and English.

Entitled “Come and Play Tar and Setar”, the book will be released by the Chang Publications in near future in Tehran.
“This is the first time that a book on Persian musical instrument is published in English as well,” he told the Persian service of ILNA.
The book is a complement to his previous book “Tar and Setar Modern Instructional Method” which was published in 1993, he added.
“I plan to perform concerts with a Kurdish music band in Iraq’s Sulaimaniyah in February 2011 which will be held in two Kurdish and Persian sections,” he added.
Some Kurdish folk music pieces as well as some Persian pieces composed by Saket will be performed during the event.
“I will begin a worldwide tour from Russia after the Sulaimaniyah performances and will continue in Europe, U.S. and Canada,” he concluded.
